Olawale Gbologe
Olawale Gbologe is a Nigerian born multidisciplinary visual artist, Art director, and Artist coordinator living in Scotland UK, whose work bridges the worlds of digital art, culture, and sound. His practice delves into the surreal and symbolic, merging Yoruba aesthetics with dreamlike visual narratives that celebrate African heritage and explore the intersections of identity, memory, and resilience. Rooted in visual storytelling, He draws from both personal and collective experiences to illuminate the histories, struggles, and beauty of Afro diasporic communities. His digital works create immersive cultural landscapes where tradition meets contemporary technique, shaping spaces in which voices are honored, ancestral memory is preserved, and collective identity is reimagined.
Alongside his visual practice, He is dedicated to amplifying the voices of independent African music artists. Through Art direction and music curation, he translates rhythm into color, beats into imagery, and lived experiences into evocative forms crafting multidimensional works that are both symbolic and deeply emotional. Exhibited internationally, Olawale continues to weave art and sound into powerful narratives that celebrate African culture, elevate emerging voices, and expand the possibilities of storytelling across mediums.

Ayé
This body of work is inspired by Yoruba masquerades and the mystical powers of the Ẹlẹyẹ, the revered Àwọn Ìyàmí.
Ayé is conceived as a spiritual battleground, where forces of good and evil are in constant contention. It is inhabited not only by humans but also by ancestors, spirits, and, at times, malevolent entities.
In Yoruba cosmology, Ayé is more than a physical world. it is a complex, dynamic space where the spiritual and moral dimensions of existence intersect. It is where human destinies unfold in relation to both visible and invisible forces.
Understanding Ayé as a realm shaped by unseen spiritual influences offers deep insight into Yoruba religious beliefs and practices.
Once, We Were Three is a deeply personal series that explores the quiet heartbreak of childhood during parental separation. Through the recurring image of a father, a mother, and a daughter each sitting alone on the same short street fence, the works reflect moments that were once filled with laughter, simplicity, and play, now suspended in silence and distance.
Each painting isolates one figure, the father, the mother, and the child, capturing the silent distances that grew where warmth once lived. The fence, recurring across the works, becomes both a memory and a metaphor: once a perch for family closeness, now a quiet boundary between what was whole and what remains apart.
In revisiting these moments, Once, We Were Three speaks to the invisible scars left on children when love unravels. It holds space for the loneliness of a young heart caught in the echo of what used to be a tender reminder that even in separation, the memory of unity endures.
